Travel by ferry from Anacortes, WA to an island oasis, Friday Harbor. You’ll be treated to a two night stay at Friday Harbor Suites and stay in their “king-bed room”. Get your morning brew at Riptide Cafe and then schedule a tour through the Salish Sea on a whale watch tour with San Juan Safaris! You won’t be disappointed. OR choose to go on a guided 3-hour kayak tour. Grab a bite at Market Chef and pop into Sand Pebble for a souvenir before heading home.
The San Juan Islands are north of the Puget Sound, about 1.5 hours from Seattle. During your downtime, make your way to the south end of the island and comb South Beach, or walk the Finlayson trails. If you head to the north end, we recommend eating dinner at Madrona Grill overlooking Roche Harbor. Visit the Lavender Farm, Westcott Bay or the many shops in both Friday and Roche Harbor. The nostalgia of this little island is just the breath of fresh air you’ll need!

You cannot book at Friday Harbor Suites on a Friday or Saturday in July or August
There are age restrictions for children, depending on what boat or kayak tour you are scheduled on. Kayak tours stop running late September and don’t start again until May each year. Whale watch by boat vessel stops running late October (depending on weather) and picks up again at the end of March. We recommend calling to ensure a full experience.
You are not guaranteed to see whales, but SJS works with a network of people to ensure the best experience possible. Whale sightings are common May-Sept.
The whale watch and kayak tour option is scheduled on a space available basis, so book ahead.
San Juan Safaris is unable to accommodate certain disabilities/physical impairments on their vessels. Please inquire.
No dogs allowed in the hotel or on any vessel with San Juan Safaris
YOU MUST book your ferry ahead of time to ensure a voyage.

We recommend you visit in the spring or fall. The island is vibrant with color and there are less tourists than the heavy summer months. The island is beautiful year-round, but many restaurants and activities are closed in the winter, from December-February.
